It’s my 1 Year Blog Anniversary!!!!
One year ago, I wrote my very first blog post.
well not exactly.......
I wanted to start my own blog after discovering my passion for RC drifting.  I wanted to share my love of the hobby and all the different people around my area who enjoyed it too. At times it was frustrated since I knew not many people were checking it but thats how it goes for a new blog site.
I continued to showcase RC drift products, tools, videos, photos, local demos and competition. As well as local spots to practice, tune and meet others alike. It got very exciting.

Over 100 post, and 502 Facebook likes later, here we are.
I have met so many wonderful, inspiring and supportive people in the community of RC drifting. It's mind-blowing how the internet can make the world such a small place!

Big THANKS to each and every one of you who has left a comment, Liked the Facebook page and shared our articles and photos. Thank you for being a part of my journey, and I cannot wait to see where it’ll take Yanki Dori next!

I'm here to introduce to you the youngest RC drifter in our North East area. Gabriel Correa.
Gabriel has been a weekly participant of Salvation slide - an indoor gymnasium turned into a drift track on Thursdays night. Time on the track and understanding more about what RC drifting is all about, Gabriel has improved substantially since the first time coming out with his father, who actually drives a 1:1 Toyota Trueno drift car.

I caught up with Gabriel on a Thursday evening at Salvation Slide and totally surprised him when I told him I was going to put him on my blog. He was totally stoked. I sat down and asked him a few questions and here's what he had to say.

Tell everyone out in Cyber-world what your name is? and how old you are??
(Chuckles) My name is Gabriel Carrea and i'm 8 years old.

What got you into RC drifting?
GC: The first time I went to Formula D I saw it there and I begged my dad I wanted one.

How long ago was that?
GC: Two years ago.

So you have been drifting for 2 years?
GC: NO, NO I told my dad I wanted it 2 years ago..... and I got the car for my birthday.

What chassis do you run?
GC: I run a HPI E-10.

Any upgrades?
GC: Yes, A LOT...
HPI e10 rtr chassis with HPI aluminum shaft, front 1 way, rear spool, universal axles, front and rear adjustable control arms and firebolt 15t motor, yeah racing adjustable steering linkage and front knuckles/uprights, Raikou drift tires.

Do you have any favorite Formula One Drift drivers?
GC: I like Vaughn Gitten JR.

Was learning to drift hard?
GC: Not really..... well, getting the car to move right.
When I first saw it it looked real easy but when I tried it I couldn't get the car to drift right.

What I found out was you cant just hold the gas(throttle) and turn the (remote)wheel hard. Throttle control is everything.

Gabriel entered his first comp at YankiDori Drift Comp. He did a great job.
We hope to see him entering more events in the future.

Many here in the United States don't have dedicated RC drift tracks, so we are left to improvise. There has been a trend growing with using Emsco Bedrock Trimfree Lawn Border System to help design many layouts. This lawn border makes a great wall or partition in layouts. There very light and simple to use, they pop together in seconds and very affordable. One pack contains 10 feet.

Look for these in your local lawn and garden stores.

New Jersey's local team Toxic Drift will be hosting a drift series that will consist of 3 competitions at different locations.

Here is a short film on drifting. The concept of the half hour film was to showcase all the vibrant and passionate drifting communities in the US.
2 guys Joshua Herron and Will Roegge crisscrossed the United States documenting the drifting scene and everything that makes it fun.

On June 30th Local drift club - ClubLoose held their annual drift event at Englishtown NJ. The event is a two day drift event that starts early Saturday and slides into late Sunday. Many people from all around travel to this event. Toxic Drift was sighted getting sideways and giving an RC demo of how they do it 1:10 scale.
Here are a few shots of the day. You can always check out more in my Photobucket.
